Big Fish is bringing a big dose of magic to the Great White Way, and Broadway.com resident artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson swam to the Neil Simon Theatre to catch the new adventure onstage, then drew this portrait of the cast in action. Clockwise from bottom left, the drawing features Zachary Unger as Young Will, Ryan Andes as Karl the Giant, Ben Crawford as Don Price, Kate Baldwin as Sandra Bloom, Brad Oscar as Amos Calloway, Kirsten Scott as Jenny Hill, Ciara Renee as the Witch, Norbert Leo Butz as Edward Bloom, Sarrah Strimel as Girl in the Water, Krystal Joy Brown as Josephine and Bobby Steggert as Will Bloom. Directed by Susan Stroman, the new musical by Andrew Lippa and John August tells the story of a man with big dreams and even bigger stories. Check out Squigs’ latest artwork below, then catch the show, opening on October 6!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
